Megan Carroll is a filmmaker based in Los Angeles. She received her MFA in Film & Television Production from USC in May 2019. Megan was recently awarded the 2019 Sloan Screenwriting Grant for her feature “The Bone Wars”, which she co-wrote with her writing partner.
Megan was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska where she double majored in English and Graphic Design at Creighton University. In 2016, she quit her job and rode her bicycle solo from Portland, Maine to Minneapolis, Minnesota. For fun. After that, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her MFA at the USC School of Cinematic Arts where she focused on writing, directing, and producing. She’s interested in fiction, nonfiction, television, and commercial work and prefers not to limit herself to a particular genre though she gravitates toward speculative fiction and absurd dark comedy. She’s interested in stories that question the status quo and challenge the audience to reconsider their perceptions of reality.
